Sustainability policy

Our sustainability policy stipulates that, from a holistic perspective, we control and set goals for our business in line with the UN’s global goals for sustainable development, and the international climate agreement. We place great importance to the choice of raw materials and aim towards renewability, degradability and the best working environment in manufacturing and use. We want to take care of our globe and our fellow humans, and do as much as we can for a sustainable society and a healthier environment.

Our sustainability policy also includes examples of what we have done so far to get closer to the UN’s goals, as well as what we have for measures and targets set for the future. You can download the document below (please not it’s only available in Swedish).

Environmental certifications

At PLS, we have worked along the requirements of various environmental certification organizations since the start of operations. We work towards long-term and purposeful environmental efforts in manufacturing, distribution and product management. We take the entire life of our products into account, from raw material to waste. Applicable environmental legislation and other regulatory requirements must be followed by a wide margin. We have long been certified according to ISO 14001 and ISO 9001, and we currently have over XXX number of environmentally certified products by the Swan, Good Environmental Choice and the Asthma & Allergy Association (hur översätta).

What we want

PLS must be at the forefront of sustainability in our industry in Europe and actively contribute to sustainable development. We take scientific evidence that human activity accelerates climate change seriously. Therefore, in order to contribute to the global agenda, we must direct and set goals for the business in line with the UN’s global goals for sustainable development and the international climate agreement.

We place great importance to the selection of raw materials and aim towards renewability, degradability, and that the working environment during production and use is the best it can be. PLS never uses toxic, dangerous or CRM-classified raw materials. We aim to take care of the Earth and our fellow humans, and take our stand for a sustainable environment and a healthier nature.

What we've done

Since our inception in 1973, PLS has been driven with a clear sustainability focus. We were one of the first chemical companies in Sweden to ISO-certify our factory in accordance with ISO 14001, and have among other things:

  • Established over 190 ecolabelled products on the market.
  • Increased proportion of recycled plastic in packaging by 20% and increased proportion of renewable plastic (BBC) by 3-5%.
  • Improved efficiency and optimization of our transport with environmentally classified vehicle fleet

You can see more milestones in our sustainability policy.

What we do

Working towards sustainability is far from over, and at PLS we are constantly pushing to develop even more. We work attentively and invest in new innovative environmental alternatives, while also educating our customers on the use of our products to get the most effective dosage, healthiest work environment and as sustainable cleaning results as possible.

See our sustainability policy, for all of our overall strategies to continue to succeed in the three areas specified by the UN – social, ecological, and economic sustainability.
